The Sprint 2 has been a consistently
popular car kit at the club and hobbyist level, and the new Sport
version takes it up another notch! With the Sprint Sport cars, HPI
aims to make the kit even more popular with a few changes to the
electronics package. The RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport features a
completely pre-assembled chassis with all the major electronics
installed. You get a full set of high quality HPI electronics, from
the 15-turn Firebolt motor to the SC-15 electronic speed control
and TF-1 radio gear. All you have to supply are the 8 AA batteries
for the transmitter, plus the battery and charger for the car.
Supplying the Sprint 2 in this form allows you to pick and choose
the exact battery/charger setup you want, so you can be ready for
full throttle racing or hours of car park fun! This drift version
adds specially designed hard compound, treaded drift tyres,
pre-mounted on officially licensed replicas of the famous Volk TE37
wheels. Top it off with your choice of two different clear JDM-spec
bodyshells, the legendary Toyota Trueno AE86 or the hot Nissan
350Z, both supplied with pre-cut vinyl decals and a set of flashy,
eye-popping drift decals. The chassis is factory assembled right
out of the box, making the Sprint 2 Drift Sport the quick and easy
way to practice your drifting skills. The RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport
is a complete drift machine that looks and drifts just like the
real thing! Drifting is the ultimate expression of motorsports
individuality and mayhem while staying on all four wheels! With the
RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport, you get a super-easy and very cool entry
into get into the wild and crazy world of RC drifting!
The RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport chassis is 4WD
for consistent drift action on a wide variety of surfaces;
it’s easy to drive and has all of the features you need to
adjust for a perfect drift set-up: camber, toe-in, ride height,
Ackerman, and a wide variety of available shock oils and shock
springs! With a big foam front bumper, reinforced moulded nylon
chassis, upper deck and shock towers, you'll see that the Sprint 2
Drift Sport can easily take the abuse of drift driving. The full
ball bearing, dual belt, 4 wheel drive transmission is very
efficient and capable of handling high power modified electric
motors down to 10 turns. Everything is pre-built to precise factory
specs to get you drifting quickly, all you need to do is paint the
bodyshell and apply the custom Art Factory decals for some sweet
street looks! The Sprint 2 Drift Sport is supplied the new HPI
SC-15 electronic speed control and the Firebolt 15-turn 540-size
motor for high top speeds and fast acceleration! You get to choose
the battery to use in the car – any stick-pack style 7.2 volt
RC battery fitted with a standard battery connector will fit in the
chassis. Use any RC fast charger to top up the batteries, and you
can keep running and ticking off laps for hours!
The design of the Sprint 2 chassis with its
controlled flexibility gives the car great handling. A belt driven
4 wheel drive system guarantees smooth power transfer and excellent
traction on all surfaces. Plus, the race proven suspension with
real oil filled shock absorbers offer lots of racing features you
wouldn't expect from a beginners car: adjustable camber and toe-in
links, extra long upper links with new multiple mounting positions,
adjustable Ackerman settings, adjustable droop, different caster
and toe in blocks included in the kit... to name but a few. All

With a big foam front bumper, a reinforced
chassis, upper deck and shock towers you'll see that the Sprint 2
can take the abuse of racing on the track and on the street! All
important chassis and suspension parts are made from high quality,
high impact nylon which makes the Sprint 2 almost indestructible!
The fully ball raced, dual belt, 4 wheel drive transmission with
only one geared step (48dpi motor pinion to spur gear) is very
efficient and capable of high power modified electric motors.
With sealed gear differentials front and rear, you never have to
worry about time-intensive diff rebuilds on your Sprint 2. The
strong and flexible HPI polycarbonate bodyshell resists cracking
and other damage! 8 rubber sealed ball bearings at the wheel axels
and 6 more ball bearings at all other axels don't wear out like
metal or plastic bushings and provide lower friction and more
The reliable and sturdy HPI TF-1 radio controls the
RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport, giving you ultimate control in a
realistically designed radio! The steering wheel design makes you
feel as if you’re actually driving the car, and the
trigger-style throttle and brake controls provide you with
finger-sensitive action when accelerating and stopping!The radio
transmitter features interchangeable frequency crystals, servo
reverse switches, a retractable aerial with sliding cover, easy
access to radio adjustments and simple battery replacement.
Taking the signals from the transmitter,
the HPI RF-1 receiver uses standard RC connectors to send your
control signals to the SF-1 steering servo, which controls the
steering, and the forward/reverse SC-15 speed controller, which
handles the throttle, brake and reverse commands to the Firebolt
15-turn motor. You get long-range, reliable connections between
your transmitter and car with the RF-1 and dependable control from
the SF-1 and SC-15!
Giving the RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport the
ability to get around the track fast is a 15-turn motor, the HPI
Firebolt! This fixed-endbell motor has the grunt and power to give
the RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport plenty of acceleration and high top
speeds! With standard ‘bullet’ connectors, the Firebolt
can work with any electronic speed controller or can be replaced by
a faster motor to give you even more speed and torque.
Choose Your Own Battery and
Charger The Sport versions of the Sprint 2 feature
all the electronics necessary to get running, except the car
battery and charger. This allows you to choose the right batteries
for your purposes: get a handful of packs for car park bashing, or
arm yourself with high-voltage racing packs for top-speed lap
attacks! You can also gear yourself up with a simple peak charger
or a computerized fast charger, it's your choice! Ask at your hobby
shop dealer for the best battery and charger for your needs.
Because all of the electronics are standard-size RC components with
standardized connectors, any or all of the components can be
upgraded at any time, or moved into a different RC vehicle in the
future. The RTR Sprint 2 Drift Sport will accept any standard
540-size brushed or brushless motor, plus any type of 6-cell 7.2v
RC battery pack, of either stick pack or side-by-side design, will
fit in the chassis.
When you're ready, it will be very easy to hop up your Sprint 2.
